WRX Tranny on legacy 1990

Post by Alpocalypse »

Hi !

I just purchased a WRX 2002 tranny to put on my old legacy.

I will change also the clutch and the rear differential but I was wondering if I would have also to change the cardan at the rear or if the original ones will fit the wrx Rear differential.

Thank you

have you thought about how the speedo won't work. The older legacy's are cable driven, the new ones are electronic. The VSS sensor in the tranny probably won't work properly with the old ECU either. You will end up with a tranny that won't shift properly, your gas mileage will be terrible, and you probably will find you want to put in the correct tranny.

Well this should not apply to my car since I have the block, intake , electronic of an JDM STI version 4.

That is why it is time to change the tranny
