Starting issues....

Post by gt2.5turbo »

Alright well ive owned my turbo wagon for about two months now and when i first bought it was was running fine and after about a week of actually using it as my daily driver it had some starting problems from time to time, aka it would have to turn over alot to acutally start. I just thought maybe my starter was getting a little old and thought nothing of it... but now it has gotten progressively worse and takes as many as 4 attempts to start the engine wether it has been sitting for 2mins or 24hours. Im not quite sure what is causing this; I can here the fuel pump click on and the starter is clicking. Is it possible the fuel pump isnt able to prime up enough fuel to start or is it more of an electrical problem maybe with my coil pack or plugs? any suggestions would be helpful.

So, let me get this straight. Your starter turns the motor over, but it just keeps turning over and not starting?

Assuming that's the case: I'd check fuel filter or pump. You might also have clogged injectors, and old coil or sparkplugs. Make sure you run premium in that thing..turbo's don't take kindly to 87 like our NA's do.
