what is a good high flow cat?
ok guys, i am getting ready to do my exhaust. i have my 95 legacy with ej22T. i am going to run a stromung dp then have it go right into a 3 inch mid pipe. some place in the mid pipe i want to have a high flow cat put in. i wil cap it all off with a dual tip stromung muffler ment for a wrx. the reason for using the wrx muffler is because the legacy one only comes in 2.5.
i have seen that in like summit they have high flow cats that are universal so they are ment to be welded in, this is what i need. the cats are only like 60 bucks, should i stay away from them or get one?

Why stromung?! Its just as bad as the HKS unit! I also wonder why you would go from 3 inch back to 2.5? A universal muffler is going to be cheaper than even a used stromung plus it will be 3 inch

where's the 3" round one? I didn't see it anywhere?

welll i guess i just thought the bottom one was a 3 incher. but 99 for the oval 3 inch is not bad at all. that is what i wil have to do.
where should i put my o2 sensors?
i will have the wide band and the narrow band. the wide band is right behind the turbo, its used for my safc, and the narrow is just behind the dp cat. shoudl i just have 2 bungs welded in about half way down the stromung dp?

Are you using your OBD2 computer or OBD1 computer?
If it's OBD1 you should probably have the O2 sensor before the cat.

right now i am running obd2, but vrg3 is making me the harness that willl alow me to plug the ej22T ecu right into my 95 harness.
i thogutht the obd1 ecu only had the narrow band sensor? i wil have to run the wide band as an extra just for the safc.

If you're running obd1 yes you only need one sensor, and yes current obd1 sensors are narrow band.
The main point I was getting at is that you need to run the O2 sensor for the ECU and for the SAFC for that matter before the cat to get an accurate reading, or at least that's what I've been told.

I found a 3" in/3" out cat from a muffler shop for $55 (oval) and put it in right behind the turbo; where the stock one sits. It seems to be a universal type but designed to work with the flow capabilities in having a 3" inlet. The exhaust gasses need to be as hot as possible for the cat. to work efficiently so I would suspect placing as close to the turbo would be best.
Good Luck! My car just passed the Calif. annual emmisions test.
