Sony DRM technology - read this story

Post by Tleg93 »

Be careful what CD's you play on your computer. Sony is infecting your PC based system with rootkits.

There's a couple follow up stories on the web about it too. This is bad stuff.

Piracy, not anti piracy.

I'm saying that DRM is giving us more and more legitimat reasons to illegaly aquire media, instead of paying for it.

I find it ironic. All that DRM does is punish people who legally aquire that stuff. The piraters will always find ways around it, since at some point whatever encryption they use has to come off in order for us to hear/watch/play.

It's not really legal without your consent but I bet if you read the very fine print in your CD jacket you will see something to this effect....

"By purchasing this media you agree to all....blah blah blah blah blah software blah blah blah installed blah blah blah damage blah blah sony."
