1992 Celica All-Trac
Looking for something cheap for rally or auto-x I found this alltrac. It has been sitting behind a shop now for about 3 1/2 years. The body is perfect except for paint fading and the engine and tranny are there. It was going to be wired up for standalone so the engine harness is cut up and would probably need a new one or iI could go ahead with the standalone. No struts or springs, it is sitting on wheels. The car was brought in to have some stuff done to it and the kid could'nt afford it so I guess he kept the car. The bank still has a lien against it, so there would be problems with getting the title(reason for track use). This was all about a year ago and I keep thinking I should go buy it for a project. He wanted $500 at the time. Thanks for your input.

They can be seriously kick ass but.................. They are a fairly rare bird, parts are going to be hard to come by.
Reddevil, Awaiting new heart, will it ever happen?

I've worked at a Toyota dealer for 3½ years now and I've seen ONE Celica All-Trac. It was in fair shape cosmetically, it had 150k on it, it had a Greddy boost gauge, and it was having a lot of problems.
You shouldn't have a tough time getting parts for it... if you go to the dealer
It's a 3S-GTE engine, the same as the MR2 Turbo, so that might expand your searches a bit.
Good cars for sure, but you want something CHEAP. This, unfortunately, isn't what you're looking for

No doubt it's a rare car, but AWD turbo cars are the shiz. When I was looking for a new car it was between the All-Trac and a 5mt SS, I just found mt SS first and it was cheaper. Plus I'm not quite sure if I would rally it, they are good handling cars so Auto-x is another option. If I do buy it and I could get the title squared away then it would definetly not be a rally car. I would probably turn around and sell it seeing as they go for good amounts of money.

that all trac sounds like a nightmare.
for a cheap rallycrosser, go with a ea81 or ea82 subaru. they are pretty competitive. or if you dont mind 2wd, a mk1/mk2 volkswagen or a honda, also competitive. personally I would go with the ea subies but thats just me.
for a autocrosser the mk1 VW would be my choice. nice FSP early rabbit would be fun.

I don't have a clue where you got the idea that they are slow...as they ran 14.5 1/4 mile stock and somewhere around 5.5 0-60...azn2nr wrote:dont do it, its a slow pudgy dog of a thing when it runs right. the turbo sucks more than the one that comes in our cars. i almost got one a while back. thought it wold be cool to have a rare car like that... yea eff that shizzz
I would say buy it, and have fun with it, because they are a neat, well built car! $500 is a steal, even for one in that condition!
Just don't beat it too hard

On any Prelude, its unfortunate that the front wheels spin and the rears only move side-to-side.
. . . The 4ws system rarely works, from I've heard, and its electrical, to boot.
I will buy a celica all-trac at some point. They're beautiful cars when taken care of, and I'm sure they can be an incredible performance machine if well-modded.
If you buy it, do yourself a favor; restore it to what it should be. If you're even half-way good looking, this car should get you a few good nights out, as well.
But, we're not in a position to stop you, and it is your money.

Toyota's the only car I'd recomend over a scoob ... 3S-GTE rocks... get it.... there are tons of internet resorces. http://alltrac.net/ there's one ... the car is also called a Toyota GT4, so keep that in mind when researching.
