I just bought a 91 SS
The driverside rear door will not open from either side (door is not locked).
I have searched and have read Hobbie Gary repair (need to do it to the front pass door).
I need to get the door panel off, is the best way to remove the rear seat (found that by searching)?
or
Is there another trick (aside from a large prize bar) for getting the door open?
Thanks,

I think you're going to have to take the seat out so that you can get access to the panel's lip. While there are only like 4 screws that hold the door panel in, there are still clips that require you to be able to pry at the panel from the left side. And in this case, you aren't able to gain access to that side without removal of the seat. As I recall, there are 3 bolts that hold the bottom part of the seat on. So just undo those, pull the seat, and work on the door.
Definitely don't use a pry bar, you'll break the lock mechanism..and that's not a good thing. I'd also check the handle mechanism itself to see if it's hooked up correctly.

Manarius, thanks for the reply
I was joking about the prize bar
I was hoping after removing the plastic trim
there may be a way of gaining access
to the mechanism through the door pull opening
If I can get the door open, the panel removal will
be much easier.
Even with the seat bottom out, getting the retaining clips loose
is going to be a PITA
