engine swap ecu problem
i am in the process of swapping a built ej20t from a 96 jdm wrx into my legacy, the guy i bought it off said that it is possible to run it off my stock ecu, i have my doubts about how easy that may be, the motor has alot into it and i dont even think the factory computer would be good for it. I am interested in a getting a chip that will put the motor to its full potential, i just have no idea what to buy or where to buy it. how much should i expect to spend? have any of you guys had to deal with this problem

I would wager that your top end --thats your heads, and consequently, your intake manifold and that jazz determine more of what your ecu/management should be.
If your deal is so built, why on earth are you running it on stock electronics? Why not pull some serious potential out of your engine? At least an Ecutek? (Reflash ecu)
Cheap, fast, reliable. Pick two.

I took an EJ20TT without the turbos and dropped it into my N/A legacy with the stock ECU and it ran just fine. I don't know how much different the turbo model legacys are but I am sure you will have to change over some sensors (I did), make some wires longer (I did), and have some patience.
