If I had an FCD prof built how much would you pay?

That spinning thing that makes all of the cool noises. OE and Aftermarket.

As mentioned in this thread viewtopic.php?t=1905 by jbs_racing a home brew FCD that is somewhat better than aftermarket units is available.

The description can be found here http://www.teamfc3s.org/info/articles/fcd/diy_fcd.htm

As you can see from this graph (below) the FCD has very good response, better than some of the name brand units

I know someone who has been looking for a side project for extra money. He would be willing to build these and I would handle selling them. Even if you already own an FCD or dont plan tell me how much you would honsetly buy it for.

If you have examples of any low cost units please post them, that way I can try to beat the price.

Thats insane!!!!!!! People..... we are talking about 10 dollars in parts and the scematic is already published without copyrights. Not to mention that it appears that the rx7 guy just modified and exsisting design. I was thinking along the lines of 50 bucks. 10 for parts and 40 for an hour of the techs time (if that) to assemble it. I hope I'm not coming off the wrong way. I really do not mean to sound like a prick.

I'm with you, Mike... Even $50 is a pretty high upper bound for this really simple design.

Ciper - Have you read this post of mine? I have some ideas about a "better" FCD. It would allow the signal through unchanged until a threshold, and then ramp the signal down beyond that threshold.

I've revised the design since then but still haven't tested it... Here's the current iteration:

If your guy has more free time than I do maybe he could rig one up and see if it works. I'd be glad to help him understand it and/or debug it. The components should run about 3 bucks, but it would probably best be built on a designed and fabbed PC board (which would have to be designed after the circuit is finalized) rather than just on perfboard or whatever.

Just a wee bit high :) Thats about $100-$125 more then a name brand after market electronic FCD.

If it came with a guarantee and looked good, I could see $45-$50 shipped.

$100 tops, but if it's $10 in parts...
