ENGINE CODE #15 / #2 FUEL INJECTOR

Post by J167H »

Hello, I'm trying to figure out whats going on with my 1991 Legacy L. Engine will come on and car will run terrible (doesn't stall though), after a while it goes out and everything is fine. Checked the code and get a 15, which is apparently the #2 fuel injector. Thats all I know at this point. Can anyone help me out.

p.s. FWD , no turbo.

It sounds like you have a problem with the #2 fuel injector.

Just a guess though.

There sure is.

I'd suggest you get a Haynes manual, I think they have procedures to diagnose injector problems, among with a lot of other things. Probably the best $20 Ive spent on my legacy.

Take it out, check the resistance, see if it pulses when a voltage is applied to it

I may be way off, but I'd say you either have a bad injector, or bad injector wiring.

Thanks for the help. I guess i'll have to do some homework on fuel injectors, I don't have any experience working on them.

yeah, check the wiring, I actualy had this just a few months ago, bad connection is all it was. Of corse my bad conection was in the repairs to the harness that I did after an engine fire... hopefully you're not in the same boat, but check the wiring none the less
