so today i was driving my newly rebuilt and FMICified legacy back from corvallis to portland. and i am going up the hihll into salem and i went WOT. well needless to say i busted one of the couplings off the piping to my intercooler. my intercooler which is brand new. hit the pavement at 70 mph. GOD Damnit.
so i cause a semi to almost jack knife as i rolled off the side of the freeway. well thank god i always have my portable tool kit with me. i fixed it.
i start driving again. i get a half a mile down the freeway and i busted a radiator hose. Of course its because of my bad luck that all of this happends. i do have nearly the worlds worts luck. i have been in so many serious car accidents in my time its crazy. not one has been my fault. drunk drivers you know just everything horrible.
so i pull off at enchanted forest and fix up the radiator that busted and sprayed coolant everywhere. and i start driving towards portland again.
so i got home and i doubled every hose clamp on my intercooler system. and all is well. believe it or not the intercooler only has a few bent fins. pretty good considering it scraped along the ground doing 70 mph.
oh well its all good now. whos going to the rally tomorrow?

tie the intercooler to the body with something else other than the hoses.thehookeup wrote:so today i was driving my newly rebuilt and FMICified legacy back from corvallis to portland. and i am going up the hihll into salem and i went WOT. well needless to say i busted one of the couplings off the piping to my intercooler. my intercooler which is brand new. hit the pavement at 70 mph. the hoses will wear over time due to the weight of the intercooler and start sagging.
