Basically Im replacing the dome and trunk lights with strips of LEDs inside lexan concealed in edges of the car. Pointsource lighting sucks because of the shadows it casts. With striplighting, you get a lot more usable light with the same overall brightness.

The final colour will be white, but Im doing the testing with colour because I dont want to wreck my whites

Sounds like a cool idea, I remember reading about the Ambient Lighting system they have in the Maybach and wanting to adapt it to other cars. Would you have the strips actually hidden or in view?
