Somethings Going On

Post by Subaru_Nation555 »

So this week my cars been having a number of problems with the car. Vikash and I properly installed my O2 sensor that I installed when I bought the TBE. The car ran fine for 20 or so miles then started stumbling and hestitating. While idling it would almost stall. I unpluged the sensor and it ran a little better. I assumed the sensor was bad so I ordered a new one. Untill that gets here I cleaned the air filter and the MAF. The car is running with just the MAF but it seems worse then before, really rich-it kinda bogs down at around 2k rpms. Then tonight I noticed the fuel gauge dip down from almost full to all the way empty. It then went up to the half way mark and is staying there even though there is more fuel then that in the tank. Whats going on?

Just went for a drive to see if anything would happen. The gauge is all over the place. It fluctuates from empty to the halfway mark but never goes any higher. There are atleast 13 gallons in the tank.

How would I go about checking that? I was browsing through some old topics and came across some info about bad or corroded senders making the gauge not work. How would I go about checking the senders?

Well it seems to be back in order now. For the last month or two the tank has never been more then a 1/4 full. Just yesterday it was filled up. Could this have caused the problem? I'm hoping this was a one time thing but I'm prob. not so lucky.
