Yes, all US-spec BC/BF Turbos have 3.900 final drive ratios.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood.

Some but not all 1991 models came with LSDs. (There were no touring wagons in 1991, by the way.)

How can you tell if it has a lsd back there? Would it be bigger than say a 90 awd rear diff?

There'll be a sticker on the back of it that says 3.900 LSD. Amazingly enough, it stays on after all these years! :)

I was pretty sure almost all or at least a majority of the 91's came with LSD.....after that 92-94.....it was more spotty.

Yeah, I've been led to believe that when I want to add LSD, to look for a 91. It's a shame it wasn't more popular or available.

Thanks for all the info, since I just called the wrecker for the rear diff. and the guy told me he had a 91 Legacy turbo wagon auto tranny with 3.900 rear diff. but he can't find the word of LSD,so I would like to make sure before I buy it!

Few more questions, Can I use a Ver.5 WRX LSD Diff. on to the Legacy turbo?
Is it hard to make it to fits on the 3.900 Gear ratio?
Since I could get the whole rear suspension from a Ver.5 that comes with the LSD Diff. in 4.444 gear ratio, could I take the LSD apart and put it to the old Legacy gear set and make it fits to the Legacy?
What other parts I needs to do this kind of conversion?

Please help

It's not bad to change your diff fluid, if that's what you're asking :)

Laurel, yes, only the turbos had LSDs.

sullione, your car's got a 4.111 final drive, that's all. I think in 1991 all 4WD non-turbos had a 4.111 final drive ratio.

Ben, your wrecker is mistaken. There were no 91 turbo wagons. The touring wagon was introduced in 1992.

Here is what the sticker should look like:

If it's not part number 27011AA131 and/or it doesn't say "VISCOUS LSD" on it, it's not an LSD from a Legacy Turbo. If you're looking for an LSD, though, I believe ciper is still trying to sell his.
