Subaru Legacy GT B 98 - Engine wont start!

Post by dualt0ne »

I have a 98 Subaru Legacy GT B, it's run fine up until now.
I drove about 2 minutes down the road from my home and all off a sudden the engine just cut out. I tried to start it again, i turns over but i just can't get an idle. I noticed that when i first turned my key to the 'ON' Possition, i can hear a little noise comming from the front, this noise usually happens when the ABS light shows up.
_That_ noise is now a completely different sound and i think that has something to do with this issue i have. If i can find out what makes the little noise when the key is switched to the 'ON' possition then i am guessing that is where the problem is.
Could this be a fuel problem? I'm using Regular Unleaded petrol.
If anyone can help or suggest anything it would be much appreciated! Thanks. - Dual

Might be the MAF sensor. Try unplugging it and see if the car starts.

Thanks mate! That COULD be a possibility but i think it may be the fuel pump. I will try it though Thanks again
