do Iridium plugs need to be gapped?

According to both Bosch and NGK, no.

You technically can, but it is very easy to break the center electrode. They com pre-gapped anyway, IIRC.

what he said. You don't want to try and gap them. The iridium is just a little patch on the electrode and easily broken.

Iridium plugs are a waste of your hard earned money. Repeat after me, OEM is best, OEM is best. On my 2.5RS I run copper plugs. On my turbo engines I run Platinum. And always NGKs, always...
