CEL, Code 47??
I simply don't understand it, a friend of mine unplugged the TPS and IAC connectors while the engine was idling on my 92 NA and I got the obvious 24 and 31 codes, which I cleared, checked with the black plugs (Read memory mode) and it was clear (steady flashing), but when i connected the green ones and drove the car, I got code 47 (fourty seven)!!
Does anyone knows what does that mean, cause AFAIK 47 doesn't exist, but i confirmed it several times

Yeah....47 doesn't exist....I'd suggest checking again.
Does it drive any differently?

ok, I checked it one more time, in read mode (the two black plugs connected) it's clear, but then I drove the car until in got to operating temp, connected the green plugs, and drove a little more and got code 47 (four long flashes followed by seven short ones).
The engine runs fine, it's just that I'm curious about the code because I can't find any information on it.
Could it be that the car has the FWD fuse plugged (it's in front wheel drive only)?

Is the car a FWD only automatic?
I don't think the FWD fuse would cause you issues. I've never heard of code 47.....so I'm not really sure what to say...

car is a 1992 Legacy wagon GX AWD. It has a 2.2 engine, 4EAT, air suspension, no cruise control, no ABS, no airbag, but since I've been experiencing an increasing amount of torque bind, I installed the fwd fuse until I have the time to repair it.
I've never heard of it either, and it appears only when you use the D-Mode (green plugs), it doesn't remain in memory, so I'm just as confused as you are.
I talked to the dealer and was told there is no such code, so I should be reading it wrong. Took the car there and they saw it, but couldn't explain what it was, they connected the Select Monitor and ran EVERY test (engine, tcu, etc.) and found it was clear.
I think I might have gremlins in my car, but since it is running fine, maybe I should leave it like that and forget about the code.

Yeah, I think that's probably the only thing you can do.Aert wrote:I think I might have gremlins in my car, but since it is running fine, maybe I should leave it like that and forget about the code.

Oh, I haven't been very mannerly -- welcome to Legacy Central!
How did you get hold of an Australian FSM? (And youi're in Chile, too!) Is there anyway we can see it (for example, if it's posted online in another forum)? (I'd like to get the info on the keyless entry if that's somehow possible.) Are there any other codes that's not in the US FSM that you can share with us?
Sorry about all of the questions but I guess I'm excited!

I got it from a friend (partial scan in PDF, it's 50MB), it has only the schematic for the keyless entry system, as for codes, i think there is one for faulty learning system and there might be others, will have to take a look at it.
If you would like to take a look at it, I can email it (guess gmail can handle files this big)

If you'd like to email it to me, I can host it on my server.

better than that, I finally found a link to download it:

It's not the complete manial, but it has a lot of new (for me) info
