Hello all,

Just an introduction, my name is Jay I have owned a 1992 white Legacy
Turbo Sedan since January 14th 1999(it was love at first drive). No
major performace mods yet but have done some paint(grill, calipers to
match car), pinstripe(white on the indent of black molding), stereo,
upgraded headlight bulbs, and 16" '95 Legacy GT rims with Bridgestone
Potenza RE-910 tires (love the rims). Near future hopes include:
boost
gauge, KYB-AGX ajustable struts with Prodrive Eibach Performance
springs, and possibly upping the boost from the turbo (any safe
suggestions?) but unfortunatley I have college to pay for first.

My first question to anyone with a 92 Turbo Sedan concerns the front
bumper, I am curious if the factory bumper is different than the one
I
have. Mine doesn't have fog lamps nor places to put them and in all
the photos I have seen the turbos have foglamps fitted into the
bumper. Can anyone inform me as to if I am in ownership of a
different
than factory bumper or if I am going crazy?

Hope to hear from you all!

Hey Jay good to hear from ya. I wish I had a turbo. Glad to see someone
else taking the time to paint calipers and doing the tedious nit-picky
stuff.

Check out my website on my 90 Legacy, it's in the links section on the
board's site.

Welcome Jay!

Sounds like you've done plenty for the aesthetics, now it's time for
the meaty part, speed and handling!

If you're never going to rally or autocross i'd save the $$$ and get
the GR2's instead of the AGX's, as they'll last a lot longer too.

I've heard good things about the Eibach springs but i decided to keep
the stock ones on mine when swapping the struts.

I just got a vdo boost gauge and have an autometer mount arriving
tommorow, so pay attention to the Turbo-Centric site for details on
that.

Matt's done a review of the Hallman Boost Controller over on Turbo-
Centric, read up and get one! I would be cautious about increasing
boost until you can afford an intercooler though, as detonation is
much more prone to happen at 12-13psi without it.

My wagon has the spots for foglamps but just has black inserts at the
moment. I don't need foglights, and i don't really like them :)

Jay, personally I have yet to see any 92-94 Turbo Legacys with factory fog
lights. I worked at a Subaru dealer for about 4 years and we serviced about
10 regular Turbo Legacy owners and the ocasional turbo that would pop in now
and then, and haven't seen them in that time. I'm sure they are out there,
just sort of rare. FWIW, the 91 turbos had clear turn signals down where the
fog lights would be in the 92-94 turbos. I spent the first hour of ownership
of my 91 looking for the fog light switch that wasn't there! One thing you
can do is pop the right side circular cover out and run a cold air tube up
to the air box(if you take the inner baffle out of the fender) as PeteH did.
Very nice idea

BTW, I also have the RE-910's. Not too bad of a tire for the money,
especially in the rain.

Matt,

Thanks for the insight on the bumper it answered the fog light
question, but looking at my car I don't see any circular areas on
the front bumper but oh well. I think what happened is that the
previous owner got into a fenderbender and replaced the front with
the bumper from a non turbo legacy (not complaining I actually like
it) I was just curious why mine looked so different.

thanks again
