Guys, for those of you who want a ultra free-flow muffler( and I do
mean ULTRA), but don't want to pay the prices for something like the
Apex-i N1, give the Dynomax Bullet a try. It's only $35 and is 100
percent straight through and comes in a few different sizes. Unlike
the typical Japanese performance mufflers which usually create their
own distinct sound, the Bullet just magnifies the cars original
sound. Very Very Group A rally car sounding :^) Personally I don't
think it's loud at all, well maybe a litte but nothing obnoxious
sounding. Just very deep and throaty. And again, for $35 you won't be
out a whole lot if it's not to your liking. I like it alot!

Hey Matt you wouldn't happen to have a pic of the ends would you? I
personally don't like the huge single pipe look. I like the dual tips,
anyone seen the remus muffler tips....oh they look sweet...it's a dual
chrome tip that is almost rectangular in shape, Go here....
http://www.autob1.com/Html/Remus/html/tips.htm I think the ones I'm talking
about are at the bottom...they aren't exactly like the ones I saw....I think
they may have been the squarish ones, but they had an angle cut in them.
One more thing Matt.....you think you could get us a sound bite of it
or
if you have a video or something I could extract just the sound. You think
it'd do anything for horsepower, w/o doing the whole exhaust?

Josh and Ben, you can check it out at http://www.dynomax.com/bullet.htm .
You will have to provide your own tip, it comes with nothing. And
unfortunately I have no idea of how to do that sound stuff. I've been hoping
to find someone that can do it because I'd like to record my Legacy with the
N1 muffler, but I'm having no luck. Actually the Bullet is on my Mitsubishi
right now, but the actual characteristics of the muffler would not change.
For example, a friend of mine has a Galant VR4 with the Apex-i N1 muffler
and although it sounds like a Mitsubishi, the actual tone and "crackle" is
indentical to the N1 on my Legacy. But I'll be honest, if I would have had
the Bullet when RalliSpec did my exhaust, I think I would have used that
instead and saved $165.00 :^) Keep in mind, it's universal, so you'll have
to get someone to fit it for you which really isn't a big job. And Ben, it's
just the muffler, that's it. But that would be a good time to get a cat-back
made for your car as well!

Dynomax Bullet review
I have a 3" mild steel exhaust system that begins with a custom downpipe flange
designed by me to fit a squashed 3" 90 degree mandrel bend, which mates to
another 3" 90 degree mandrel bend then is mild steel shallow non-mandrel bends
all the way back to an 18" bullet street rod type glasspak with a 3" minimum
inside diameter. My tip is just mild steel which I paint with black stove pipe
once in a while. I like a simple cheap tip because I like to jump safety
islands and curbs and tips are vulnerable. My system is loud as hell, but I
like it.
