Hello! About time this list was up!
Although it seems you've all been pretty busy in september..
My name is David Carter..
I'm 21 and my parents never bought me a car over 200 bucks.. So, I love
subarus.. so much in fact that i test drive one each month.. Becker Subaru
knows me enough not to ask questions... I personally own a Legacy LS WGN FWD,
and I've got a 92 Legacy Turbo project car.. (which means it doesn't run...)
which i have almost stripped to 1899+ pounds...not including rollcage which i
have yet to make..
-Raceing-
I have not had the time to join SCCA.. it is one of my major wants.. but i
really don't have the money. I've attended alot of club rallys.. raced in
one.. and fliped my car.. with out a scratch i might say.. I live in
Allentown PA and if there are any meets or get-to-gethers, freindly races on
one of PA's many logging trails.... please let me know.. Also if there are
any races (like the rally-X a few weeks back) around here (tri-state area
PA-NY-NJ-DEL) that anyone can enter let me know...
-General wants-
I don't really have to many wants for my car.. i just want to race it..
Information wise i don't need to know where to get parts as i have ALOT of
links to Subaru performance part makers..
One thing i do want is WHO MAKES AERO KITS!!!!! for the legacy... See the way
i figure it, is the imprezza wasen't always here so People were raceing the
legacy and dressing up the legacy.... What happened? where are those parts
and knowledge...?
well theres my 2 cents...

Hello! About time this list was up!
Hey David how's it goin.
Sounds like you got some nice projects. I'm curious about the connections
you have
....are they for specific parts or do you pretty much have
connections all around? I've got a 90 Legacy L, you can check out what I've
done www.personal.psu.edu/jcc189/subaru/subaru.html I'm up at state college
PA right now, but I have an uncle in Kutztown, PA. It's only 15+min away
from Allentown. Good to see local subie enthusiasts. I honestly don't know
about the aero kits. When the Legacy was introduced, it wasn't really the
sports car...at least the general US consensus wasn't, unfortunately. I
know you could get areo kits in Japan, but here in the states...I'm not
sure, especially for the older legacies.
Take care
Josh

Hello! About time this list was up!
Hi Dave.
The Legacy was moderately successfull in WRC before the Impreza was
released and it had a devout following in Japan. Check out the Hyper-
Rev post by Matt for some cool shots of Touring wagons with nice
kits. I'm pretty sure nothing is available new for these cars but
you might be able to import some stuff from the Liberty in AU/NZ
that'll fit, no gaurantees!

Hello! About time this list was up!
Dave, glad to hear you are from PA. I'm from Mt. Carmel so I'm only about an
hour and a half west of you. A few of us usually make the Import races at
MapleGrove and Atco and Englishtown a few times a year, and of course the
annual STPR meet in Wellsboro. Let me know if you ever want to meet up.Maybe
we can get a few others or meet up at TRi Tuning in Nazareth( Subaru tuner,
was never there though). I hear there are some fantastic trails between
Pottsville and Allentown, but I was never their personally.
As for the body kits and things. There was simply very very little intrest
in Subarus here until the RS got here. Ask any of the guys that raced
Subarus before they were "THE car to have"( Dean Fry, Bob Johnson, Chad
DiMarco, Ray Hocker). No one bothered with them seriously. Sad but true. Try
a few places that now carry kits for the Impreza that have ties with Japan.
Maybe they can find some of the old Japanese body kits for you. Keep in
touch.

Hello! About time this list was up!
What aero parts for BC-BF Legacy do you want? Front dam, side skirts,
rear wing..?
The Sub items are likely to be rare and expensive, ...the pic in the
Files section is of a RS-type R with factory side skirts, which were
scavenged from a wreck.
We also have a few aftermarket manufacturers in NZ... maybe shipping
to the USA is a viable option?

rear wing..?
The Sub items are likely to be rare and expensive, ...the pic in the
Files section is of a RS-type R with factory side skirts, which were
scavenged from a wreck.
We also have a few aftermarket manufacturers in NZ... maybe shipping
to the USA is a viable option?

I've got a '91 Sedan that I'd kill for a carbon fibre hood, new
nose, skirts, new rear, and a BTCC-style spoiler to top it off.

Hello! About time this list was up!
Well, cant help there...
- NZ is not in your area
- don't know anyone that does all those panels in fibreglass
- I doubt whether you would save that much weight doing all that in
fibreglass... aluminium maybe.
Hmmm... 147hp? ..at the wheels maybe, but you should have about 220hp
at flywheel in stock form for a stock 12lb psi EJ20 turbo

Hello! About time this list was up!
OK David...
- I will come back to you with a NZ contact for the rear wing and
front air dam. Not sure about one for a wagon though... can do for a
sedan.
- don't know of dual head light system that plugs in to a BC-BF
Legacy... Cibie and others do a BG or Impreza setup

Well i spent about a day calling all the metal working shops in Allentown,PA
and the one Fiberglass Molder in the vally and since they would not pick up
the phone, I had only a few people who knew what i wanted to do...
Actually out of the 60 or so # 's only One stood out in my mind.. Theres a
fellow out in Quakertown that SCCA Rallys, Jeeps and redid 90 percent of his
trucks in aluminum.. which he said drasticly improved the weight... but he
also said that detail would be lost and expect to lose alot of the factory
body rolls that factory presses can put out.. he can match all the seams but
the car would be more "square" than stock..
So my big delema is should i go with Aluminum or Fiberglass.. which weights
less and costs cheaper...this is the problem.. He won't give me any rought
estimates or prices and told me to bring in the car so he could get a look at
it... (pretty hard when it doesn't run..) which reminds me i need to look
into getting a auto trailer..
