ATTENTION!! FIBERGLASS BODY WORK ATTENTION!!!

Post by bussaca2@aol.com »

Well My car is back up and running. And i bought a set of discs to play
around with from a junk yard..

Getting back to the main subject.. I called my fiberglass guy,, and i am
definately going with Fiberglass.. It's lighter, more detailed, and
cheaper!!!!

I showed him pictures of that red legacy wgn and he said as long as i could
obtain a mint part (sti bumper or Rs bumper) the mold would reflect the same,
from there he can custom the work for no extra charge to make it fit to the
legacy. hood scoops are also not a problem. The vents might be tricky he
said. ALSO I inquired as if it were possiable to make BODY FLARES he showed
me a picture of a civic he did that now mounts corvette tires in the rear..
body flares and all.. i almost creamed my pants..

COST: he said molds cost about $30 a Square Foot. and the part itself is a
Quarter of that. so just for egsample a hood is aproxamtely 12square feet. =
360 bucks for the mold. 25% of that is... drumroll please!!!!!! 90 Bucks!!!!
so do your math go measure your car parts you want done ,figure your price..
add any modifications
(eg: 6sq Ft fender + 3sq ft fendar flare= 9sq feet..) and get back to me..
cause im not going to spend the money on the mold if i'm the only one going
in on this,, I'll wait till i really need it.. most likely i will be buying
my parts in January/Febuary to start the club rally circut,

David Carter.

I was actually being facetious, there are several good body shops
around here. ;)

ATTENTION!! FIBERGLASS BODY WORK ATTENTION!!!

An ideal hood for a turbo Legacy would have a hole sized for an Impreza RS
scoop, or would incorporate the Impreza RS-Style scoop. It should also
incorporate a place for nozzles for an intercooler misting system. The stock
mini scoop was never designed to feed an air-to-air intercooler. The Liberty RS
had an air-to-water intercooler and the scoop was only intended to feed that
turbo chimney shroud. My old-style WRX intercooler works a lot better with my
hand-built bigger hood scoop than it did with my stock Legacy mini scoop. My
scoop is smaller than an Impreza RS scoop, because the hole in my hood is shorter
from front to back and a scoop that high but shorter front-to-back looks
ungainly. My scoop probably flows twice as much as stock, but only about 2/3 as
much as an Impreza RS scoop.
