I have talked to two people that really should know about the Legacy
and what they were equiped with and they both have said that as far
as they know all turbo Legacys were fitted with the viscous LSD and
that finding one without this could mean that it had been replaced
with the standard rear diff.I would imagine that this could be
confirmed by lookig for wrench marks and by cleaning off the "cups"
that go on to the axels on the diff and looking for marks that are
made when installing the pins in these"cups" although this also could
mean the axel had been replaced. I think I may have found a new
source
for these rear diffs. When I was looking for one for my Impreza I
came
across one that had the new style snap in inner axels and could be
bolted in to my car without changing the axels. The only thing we can
think of is that this one came out of a late model Legacy GT and
could
be used in the turbo Legacy by changing the axels or inner "cups" I
also talked to someone that possibly has a problem with a viscous
unit
it acts like it is locked up and the rear wheels tend to skid or hop
has anyone heard of this?
