After an exhaustive search through the archives (I'm sure it is there somewhere) I have come up with nothing so I am going to start a new post.
Has anyone de chromed their wheel arches? I am thinking about doing this but would like a little insight as to what I'm getting myself into before I go and start ripping.
Thanks a bunch

The wheel arches?
My SS didn't come with any chrome on the wheel arches. AFAIK, none of them really did, unless it was something the dealership did to sell it.

I can see why you want to remove it.
Looks kinda like a dealer add-on.
Probably glued on there. If so, it's fairly likely that sand and stuff got between the trim and the fenders, so be prepared to see some bare metal.

Maybe. When I pulled mine off, there wasn't anything but some extremely minor discoloration. I used fishline and a hair dryer to undo the glue and get them off.IronMonkeyL255 wrote:I can see why you want to remove it.

So I was in a cleaning mood today and decided to get a little modding done while I was at it. I got a rubber eraser attachment for my drill and took my pin striping off (I wasn't a fan of it), then brought out the blow dryer and took the chrome from my wheel arches off (super easy and no rust underneath at all, just beautiful red paint) then I cleared my front corners (again super easy). I'll post pics in a little but im pooped right now. Besides the modding I rainXed, windexed the inside, armour alled the inside, and washed the whole car.
