Driving on the freeway to my Dad's place, Sunday afternoon, light traffic,
approx 80 mph....P*O*P...passengers side front. What was that? Oh S*H*I*T.
My windshield's cracked. I keep driving. Crack grows as I watch from 6
inches to 12. Sonofabitch. I get out at my Dad's, there's a little crater
about 1/2 inch in from the windshield frame on the right side. Never saw
what hit me. Did all the stuff with my Dad then headed home. One mile from
home, sitting at the bottom of the freeway off ramp, the engine dies. Feels
like it ran out of gas. Tank is full. Tried to restart. Cranks fine but no
fire. Push to the side. Pop the hood. Pop a gas line and crank. Gas
shoots out like crazy. Pull a plug wire. Poke in a screwdriver and lay next
to ground. Crank again. No spark. It's almost dark. Got AAA tow to
Raffi's Subaru (independent specialist in Hawthorne, CA) one mile from me.
I'm PO'd at whoever jinxed me. Which one of you guys with a manual tranny
couldn't take a little good natured ribbing the other day? Can't you take a
joke? This not funny. For both things to happen on the same day is too much.
