HI Bill, and everybody, I would like to ask you more info for the set
up of the AVC-R, How could I make a stable boost on my car?
How can I calculate the boost duty %? I don't even understand from
the manual, could you show me how to calculate it?
I connect the gray wire to the 12 pin connector at the top row 2nd
slot from right concer? is it a right connection??
My current set-up in Setup [A] is Boost .50kg/cm and the boost duty
is 63%, and at Set up , the boost is at 55kg/cm and the duty is
65%!
The boost somehow has overboost when I step on the 4 gear under
3000rpm, and it will runs 8.4Kg/cm
Also how could I set the scarmbel boost botton?
I try to set it but when I pess it, it doesn't have any respond, am I
did something wrong?
Man, I like Carzy , I'm happy with the performance of this unit just
don't wanna hurt my engine at all!!
Thanks for reply, or if you could please add me to your ICQ, my # is

To getg stable boost, you need to mess around with the duty cycle. Anyways,
low duty cycle high boost is what I did first, and worked the setting
higher. To just get everyday drivable boost, I did the opposite, high duty
cycle low boost. This setting is easier to get a steady boost. Your
settings would differ according to the setup on your car. However the basic
above shouldn't change. I had it initially at 1.3 BAR @ 20% and 0.5 BAR @
75%. (Did I explain this right Bill?)
I too don't really know how to exactly calculate it. I haven't really read
the manual yet. We did take some measurements and plotted a graph on a
turbo impreza. Actual boost vs setting was pretty linear.
I have not encountered the over boost problem. Do you have the AVC-R setup
so you get different boost at different gears? I'll read the manual
sometime and find out.
As for the scramble boost button, you can make one yourself. Its just a
switch.
Ben, it takes time to set it up and there's no way you can hurt the engine
unless you run it at extremely high boost for a prolonged time, which our
stock turbo doesn't have the capability to do. I used to run 1.5 Bar and
had no problems (overworked the turbine and no gain past 1.1 Bar).

Shairff, could you tell me whats your throttle reading when you not
step on the gas padel? I think mine has some prbolem, since my
throttle reading always 100% when I'm not step on the gas padel, and
when I step on the gas, the reading goes decreasing?????
I follow the manual and reconfirm the connection, shold the manual
goes wrong ???if its wrong, which wire is the correct one for the
throttle single?
Man, how could you set it to 1.5BAR, since the unit just shows KG/cm
My highest boost is 0.9 kg/cm and I have boost cut when it hits over
0.88kg/cm. I set the boost on .50 at 63% duty and .55 at 68% duty and
the car runs great, just some time its like over, I means when I set
it at .55kg/cm but the boost reading is ;when I force the gas it
shows 0.75kg/cm-0.8kg/cm, does it means over boost, or its just fine??
My cars factory boost reading is 8.7psi its like 0.6kg/cm. Is it ok
or am I get a wrong setting?????
Man, Please help me out since I can't find any expert tunner around
my area!!!!

I am no expert, but for what it's worth, Shariff's theories on duty cycle versus
boost setting make sense. I have not yet set mine up for gear-specific boost
settings, but when I get a few other things straightened out, I will.

Ben, my throttle reading is at 0% when I don't step on the gas and it
increases when I give it fuel. Do you have your arrow pointed downwards in
Car Select? I think that is where you may have 'screwed up'. Also, 1.5 Bar
is close to 1.5 kg/cm^2. By installing the AVC-R, you are in essence
over-riding the boost cut (I think) of the ECU. The boost reading on the
AVC-R should be correct since it's getting its sensor reading from that
metallic box. By getting 0.8 kg/cm^2, you are getting close to 11.75 psi
which is higher than the boost cut, however the AVC-R intercepts this signal
and re-adjusts the ECU input. Therefore the ECU doesn't think you have
reached the boost cut level yet.
As long as your AVC-R and your boost guage is giving the same readind, your
doing okay. FYI one of my settings are at 1.15 @ 50%. This gave me a
'stable' boost.
Good luck.
