AVC-R Overides ECU Boost Cut????

I was intrigued by the statement that an APEXi AVC-R works as a an
overboost fuel cut eliminator. I once heard this from an affiliate of
JC Sports, but I have heard all kinds of bullshit from JC Sports and its
affiliates as well. Can someone describe how this feature works, where
you heard about it and any other documentation. Whereas the AVC-R gets
its pressure signal from its own sensor and the ECU is still getting its
signal from its own MAP sensor, I don't see how it could work. I
remember nothing in the AVC-R manual about this feature.
