Schroth! Seatbelt Harness

Post by Imprezive »

One day I was at work and was putting a set of racetech seatbelts in a car and realized "Hey why not put a harness in my legacy?"

Its not like there is a air bag or anything like that in my car so I don't see any reason not to run a safety harness for street driving. I also plan on doing a little rally-cross with the car so a harness would come in pretty damn handy.

I'm looking at the Schroth Rallye Cross Harness. It's pretty cheap and IS DOT legal. I've seen a set ran in a legacy before, the guy had the shoulder straps mounted to the upper seatbelt mounting point in the rear. I assume I can do the same. And it seems to be the most cost effective safety device I could get. At only $155 a pop.

What do you guys think? Are there any other harnesses that fit well without a roll cage?

The schroth is the one with one shoulder strap that will tear off or stretch really far or something so it acts like a 3-point in a crash, right?

As far as I know that is the only one use should use without a roll bar.

You may also want to contact rallyinnovations about their harness bar. It's quite a bit less that the sparco. The GC one should fit although I'd ask for the width of the thing first.
