Motor and tranny OUT!!!

Post by gto7419 »

Spent the past few hours taking the motor and tranny out of my car with a friend.

Went pretty smooth...

Im putting the new engine and tranny in tomorrow and hopefully I can swap the rear end on sunday afternoon.

Im hoping to get the thing started next weekend....

Its been a LONG jouney to this point and I really cant wait to have this car running.

When I started to tear down the parts I would need from the old motor, I took off the oil pan and found some nice large metal shards in there.... I could hear them banging around the last time I drove the car. If I wasnt so lazy, Id tear down the block to find the cause....

Anyway, its time to go to sleep....

Anyone local is more than welcome to come helpout tomorrow or sunday :-D

I'll pm you my address.... :-D

I got the new engine and transmission in. I hit a block with the rear axle pins - theyre kinda stuck.

Bought some new punches at home depot which Im going to try today after work. I'll be working on the car from 3:30 till dark.

Ok, got the rear end done....

BUT, forgot to reinstall the o-ring in the oilpan for oil pickup.... DOH!!! This is after I got the engine in also.... Now Im going to have to take the oil pan back down again. I hope I can do it without lifting the engine again....
