Ok, so here are two pictures of what JC Sports sent me. One is a picture of
the complete kit and the other is a close-up of the MAS to turbo adapter
pipe. The adapter pipe is nothing more than a rubber 3" to 2" PVC adapter,
and a 2" PVC elbow cut to length. Take a walk through the plumbing section
at your local hardware store, and you're bound to find these items. The 3"
end is much larger than the diameter of the MAS, so the yellow silicon hose
is apparently meant to fill the gap. The 2" PVC pipe is of a noticeably
smaller diameter than the inner diameter of 90deg elbow that attaches to the
turbo. If you tighten the hose clamp enough, it will seal around the pipe.
However, I thought the point of these kits was to eliminate restrictions,
not add new ones.
As for the 3 fittings for the hoses that plug into the adapter pipe, the
large one for the air by-pass is the right outer diameter, but will not come
anywhere near close enough to actually connect to the hose. I'm not sure if
this would be an issue, but the inner diameter is actually quite small. I
don't know if the idle air bypass could deal with the restriction. The two
smaller barbed brass fittings are too small to just push the hoses onto like
stock. That's not really a big deal, because you can just use hose clamps.
But, the stock hoses wont reach.
Finally, there was no mounting bracket included with the kit. So, the only
things that were of any value in the kit were the filter and the filter to
MAS adapter. But, I'm not sure if this is a genuine K&N filter. That
doesn't make a big difference, but I did ask more than once if it was and
they never gave me a straight answer. It wasn't oiled of course. And, the
filter to MAS adapter I think is made of steel and is uncoated, so it may
rust. But a the moment that is just speculation.
So, there it is. Could it be made to work? Yeah, probably. But JC Sports
advertises this as a 100% bolt on kit. It most certainly isn't.
Regardless, it's of such poor quality, why even bother? What really makes
me angry is that they pulled the old 'bait-and-switch' trick, by showing me
a picture of what they claimed their product looked like and then sent me
this piece of junk. That's downright dishonest. I'll never do business
with them again. To their credit they did give this to me for free after I
complained about the 7 week wait and the three charges to my mastercard.
But, I'm not going to be grateful for garbage just because it's free.
So, there it is for the record.

That's f**king ridiculous. That's the biggest piece of shit I've seen.
Hell I custom made my bracket and filter setup almost 4 years ago,
before there was ANY kits. Mine is a hell of lot more respectable and
professional than that piece of shit. And I will tell you, that is NOT
a K&N, it's not that big a deal, I have an Akimoto, but the fact they
wouldn't tell you is BS.
JCSports is very SHADY, they were quite bad a while back, supposedly
they cleaned they're act up, but I sorta doubt it. Maybe on some
issues, but I think when it comes down to making new parts for newer
models or something like this for the turbo cars, they're droppin the
ball bigtime.

Good Grief!
What a hunk of junk! So what if it "works", it's probably more
efficient but still has massive flow problems because they're using
plumbing parts instead of finding or fabricating the best parts.
I'm going to get a true cold-air intake for my turbo made by Modern
Garage and see how that goes. It's going to be more expensive but
it'll be much more effective than that!
