or gems got a guy that has a rally legacy t and it works perfect with plug and play.
what one would you get.

I'd go Hydra because I've got experience with it.
Go with whatever your trusted tuner is best with.

the maf sensor now dies at 13psi, its becuse i used that under the intake pipe like a wrx it freed up a huge chunk of turbo flow just amazing how the 90 elbows on the legacys slow down the flow.
i need a ems right away, the new set up is going to make some real power.
does anyone know which ems should i get that wont give me a mad head ake to wire up. and what modle car do i need to make it work.
BAC5.2 what year modle do i need to make the hydra work, and will it be hard to make it work?

i am running 1991 legacy turbo 5mt, the hole car is a legacy turbo with add ej20k heads, every thing is legacy turbo.
ok what i have found out right now is i can get a hydra for 2grand that will plug in to my car and they made it so it will work perfect. so all i have to do is get it tuned, my tunner siad that it takes longer to tune the hydra.
autronic i can get it for 2300 left right on my door step, but it might be a plug in type deal but i would need to do what ???????? to make it work. and the year modle i was under the impression to get is 92 - 96 uk jdm impreza wrx am i right???? and what work would be involved?
anyone with some info i thank you.

For the autronic, you would probably have to convert to COP ignition, or find some other workaround. Also, you could try contacting them to see what they can do for you. They may be able to set it up for legacy turbo pinouts.

I know you need to get a MSD-DIS2 to get the plugs to fire. You'll also need to drill and tap your intake manifold for a temperature sensor. I think 2 sensors need some sort of rectifier to change the signal pulse (crank and/or cam sensors need this).
Everything should come with the ecu, though. Make sure you get the Autotune feature.

i need a msd-dis2 to make the unit work? does it not just plug in to the same legacy turbo connectors and i have to change pins around to make it work with a coil pack?
on autronic site for pluggin ecu boards, there is a listting for wrx 1994 to 1996 and if you clik on the pic its the same plugs as a legacy turbo.
Brat4by4 do you mean i need the msd for another system they sell?
this is going to cost way more then i planed if i have to go this route

I didn't have the drop in board for the WRX case, I don't know if that's different. Autronic will know. But for mine you needed the MSD-DIS2. You can pick them up used all day in the States...
Maybe someone can ship one to you.

Hey I just noticed this. We closed to prep a whole new car for the Winged Warrior event in Indy Friday/Saturday. Autronic is 2199 shipped from me Nico...or you can get here from Hamilton in about a 45 minute drive, but then you'd have to pay sales tax so I might as well ship it unless you want to stop by and say hi.
I'm running the SM4 because I don't expect any of the plug and plays to work without some rewiring and I plan to take the ECU with me for future projects so I wanted a flying lead harness. The SM4 also has some extra inputs/outputs as compared to the plug and play units.
You do NOT need an ignition box for it to work. I'm using the stock legacy SS ignitor with the black diamond coil.

I used the universal SM4 rather than getting a plug and play box for the wrong car and adapting it. If you have to rewire it anyways you might as well just start with a flying lead harness, be done with the entire stock harness, and keep it simple. The universal box has a few more features as compared to the plug and play boxes. I see now that I wasn't clear when I said that in my last post.
Don't even consider the SMC or SM2. For the extra couple hundred bucks the SM4 is in a whole other league. When you're talking about 1900 vs. 2200 it doesn't make sense to give away half the features. You have to pay to add them to the older boxes and the SM4 just comes with all of them out of the box including flat shifting, antilag, etc.
I actually did use the autotune feature to
get my light throttle cruising in line quickly. I would never use it on any system in boost, and I don't use it for anything on other systems, but the SM4 lets you retain control of which cells are eligible for autotuning and I love that.
I'll give you a call,
-Mike

Hey man sorry we've been missing each other. I'm in and out tuning 2-3 cars a day this time of year. Today it was a turbo Honda that kept overheating so I had to wait for it to cool down constantly, and an FP Red STi with a Hydra that had a number of customer inflicted issues like shooting power steering fluid, loose/missing grounds, etc. so I wasn't at my desk much.
Yes my pricing is all in USD. If you'd like to order one I do require a deposit of half since people aren't exactly buying those up like Walbro fuel pumps so I don't stock them. You can give a call Monday-Friday 10-6 and leave your info and a deposit with Jay or Justin if I'm not available at the moment. If you have any questions by all means shoot me an e-mail and I'll be happy to get back to you.

Hey man nice meeting you too. Your impreza looks awesome. I was planning to leave mine stock appearing, but yours looks so badass I might have to get a new bumper and whatnot. Very cool setup with the EJ22T bottom end, EJ20k heads, APS FMIC etc.
I just left you a PM about the ECU and I'll get back to you tomorrow after we hear from Australia. If our schedules don't mesh for delivering the ECU while I'm up in Canada tuning I'll just express it to you at no charge.
