Hi all,
Yesterday I drove my 1990 legacy GX wagon (manual) with no problems.
This morning I started her up (it was a cold morning maybe 5-6 degree celcius) it was fine. I drove down the road about a km or so and it started to get very hard to get the thing into gear. I stopped at some lights and could not get it in first. It eventually dropped in but then it was very difficult to get to second etc...
Now even when the engine is off it is difficult to move the lever through the gears (with the clutch in)
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers
Won't go into gear :(

If the car is in 1st and you start it with the clutch pushed in, does the car move?

Thanks for that...I spoke to a mechanic today and he thinks it is the "pivot bearing" that is on the main shaft coming out of the gearbox. He thinks it has seezed so that the clutch is not completely disengaging.dzx wrote:1) How much play do you have in the pedal? Maybe the clutch cable needs to be adjusted.
if not...
2.) It's possible the pivot ball has pushed through the clutch fork..
if not...
3.) possible broken shift fork.
I would figure on the first or second one.
Fingers crossed that's all it is
