Could please someone explain, is a blow-off valve the same as a dump
valve, and the standard valve on Subarus is called bypass valve,
cause it doesn't "dump" the pressure????? If so, can it be changed to
a "dumping" valve?
I'm gettin' REALLY confused here...

Rod,
thanks for the link, now I'll try to forget about replacing this
valve! I have to say though, that it would have been nice to have had
the whoosh noice described on every site that sells these valves...
In conclusion, I'll quote MRT:

Hi
I had a noisey whooshing blow of valve on my other car, it just bugged me in the end, about the only noise that does sound nice though is the zzzzbbb zzzeebb zibazib noise ( high pitched whizzing) that rally cars make when they are slowing for corners I think this is something else ?
Please help me out someone
