Hi People, I will have my car to do the emission test with my oem
exhaust system next month, afte the test, I will have 2 year test free
life!!
I would like to replace my exhaust from downpipe to muffler, I don't
wanna buy those fancy catback system or muffler, so, should I go for
custom make ?( will it cheaper then those HKS, Apex-i..etc?)
I don't wanna lose the lower end touqe so, which diameter should I
choose? 2.75" or 3", and are there any muffler don't make the sound
too lound because I sometime have to go out very earily and back home
very late, don't want to let my family complain to me for too lound
exhaust!! Any quiet muffler that fits what I need?
Please shear me some info or idea!!
Thanks very much!

Ben, we just had a good discussion on exhaust diameters and stuff.
Check http://www.egroups.com/message/BC-BFLegacyWorks/1097 for my
experience with putting a full 3" exhaust on. But, If you read what
John says, going with a good 2.5" or 2.75" system will probably work
just as well if you don't plan to make major horsepower and may save
you a bit of money as well. Read the threads and decide for yourself.
As far as a quiet muffler, the Apex-i RS muffler would be perfect.
Very free-flowing but very quiet and they make a "universal" one that
will fit the Legacy no problem. Expensive though( about $200 ). Good
luck.
