Do GR2 struts for 90 legacy wagon fit 93?

Post by ericem »

Hey, i did a search, but just to verify i only understood that the top hat is different in the rear?? Anything else major? Do i just change the top hats. KYB GR2's have different part numbers for a 90 and 93.

i heard its because of the ride height. not of the spring and shock, but the actual placement of the tophat mounting thats been welded to the unibody. theres about a 1 1/2 inch difference giving a 92 - 94 car a 1 1/2" raise.

hmm. The front's are still the same im guessing correct? Might be fine in the rear. But might look stupid. Then again my rear springs are worn so it probably lost that inch already.

Old Post I know but I figure if you can buy them for the car they should fit right.

that combined with 90-91 = tapered rear springs
and 92-94 = not tapered

92-94 springs are shorter in the front and taller in the rear, so using older 90-91 struts will really mess up the ride height.

I posted that a few weeks ago and the thread is still on the first page. Look around a bit before posting.
