Hello there!

Post by Mrdjc »

Emm, hi, I am new to this place.

I have just decided to purchase a 1996 Legacy 2.0GL Sedan.
My previous car (and first car) was a 1998 Subaru Justy 1.3GX. So its a bit of a step up! I've managed to find a insurance company that quoted me a very low amount, so its all good! (People from the UK will know how extortionate insurance can be.)
I'm going to pick it up next tuesday, the 21st (Which is my 21st birthday! Weeee!)

So, emm, hi! And I'm hoping I'll get lots and lots of usefull tips and advice from you lot!

Oh yeah, I'm from Scotland.

So, here's the first question, how compatible are the boxer engines? I had a look on wikipedia but can't quite make sense of it. What different types of engines are there, SOHC, DOHC, N/A, Turbo, CC's and the lots? And what are their corresponding numbers?

Cheers,
Daniel.

Welcome to the board Daniel.

As for being compatible....alot of the stuff is swappable. There are some things that don't, mainly from the older stuff to the newer stuff. But the in-between years seem to be pretty compatible to swap.
