Well, the bad news is I lost third gear in my Legacy turbo this
weekend. Completely out of the blue, while in third gear, there was
a severe juddering when I applied throttle, and increased revs
without increased speed as though the clutch was slipping badly.
Next thing I know, third gear is gone. The good news is I am
lowering my asking price for anyone interested in buying my car. In
case you don't know, it is a 91 Legacy Sedan with the EJ20G swap.
The motor is as great as ever, and all the other gears work great, I
am still driving the car daily with no problems (other than the
hassle of second to fourth shifts). My new price is $6000 to take
into account the price of a tranny rebuild. I will consider a trade
(plus cash depending on the car) for a mechanically excellent 5
speed, AWD wagon. I'm in Dallas, Texas.
