Diff gearing and manual trans...

Post by tmoff@ihug.co.nz »

Hi guys/girls,
Wanted to run this past you lot and get some feedback...
After a lot of reading and interest in 4wd turbos and such I have that the
lacking thing that 92 LegacyGT Turbo s/w suffers from (other than auto trans)
is the diff or the more to it, the diff gearing. So after speaking to someone
who is confident of the fit and task at hand I am looking at
1. Having my auto trans removed.
2. Installing a WRX manual trans with appropriate bits and pieces to make it
work.
3. Removing legacy diff and gears
4. Install WRX diff and gears.

Currently my wagon is running,
* Apexi Pod filter
* Blitz SBC EBC 10psi low and 15psi high
* 3" Mandrel Bent Free flow exhasut (CAT Back)
* 2.5" Downpipe (going in next week)

Thanks in advance

Tommy.

Hi Tommy, where you live, UK or US? I'm interesting of those 2.5"
downpipe, since all your exhaust system are 3" why you put 2.5"
downpipe on it??

2.5" downpipe because it is what Possum Bourne uses on his wrc spec rally
car also cause it will bolt on easier.
Oh I live in New Zealand. :)

How much is the 2.5" downpipe cost?
I'm looking for a downpipe to start to modify my exhaust system!
I was thinking to custom made for the downpipe, but I just look into
some HKS downpipe for WRX and it looks the same and could use to our
US spec. Legacy, I'm asking whats the dim. on those HKS and also the
price!!
Please help and also, please post after you put the 2.5" downpipe to
see any hp increase!!
Enjoy your Subaru!
