I would like to upgrade my 1990 2.2l. I want a turbo engine. I saw this one and was wondering if it would be an easy swap.

Also would a tranny from a 1991 or 1992 EJ22t bolt to this?
Would this work?

Theres already lots of info pertaining to the swap and tranny questions, so I won't go into that. But esentially, yes it would work for your car.
However, I wouldn't buy that engine from that outfit. They obviously don't know what they have and want too much for it, IMO. And they're in NJ, so shipping would be a bitch.

Not to hijack, but what is a good price for an EJ20T then? I have tried to find EJ22Ts and have see n them going fro almost $2000! You're telling me that a EJ20T should cost even less, even when this is a decent price compared to what I have seen when searching for 175,00 mile 2.2's? I hope you are right...shit I don't know what I hope.beatersubi wrote:Theres already lots of info pertaining to the swap and tranny questions, so I won't go into that. All I know is if I could get an EJ20T with 60k on it for $800..I'd be on it like white on rice...in comparison to the cost of an EJ22T that is.
discuss..

I got my ej22t for 450 w/ecu and boost related sensors. I've seen ej20h(?), the twin turbo, w/ 5mt go for 1000 on ebay.
There are deals out there. You just have to be patient. And persistant when it comes to watching classifieds/ebay.
On second thought, 800 isn't that bad for a 20g. I was just thinking that the seller didn't know what he was selling. Plus the shipping thing.

Lots of engines f/s on RS25.com. Keep an eye on that board to get idea of pricing. And bargan like hell if you're serious.
93SS 5MT White, TD05-16G, TMIC, 3"Turboback, Magnaflow, Alu Rad, H&R Sports, AGX struts, F/R STBs, Whiteline Sways, ALK+Endlinks, Odyssey 925, AC delete, Evo8 Recaros, Sparco 4p, 3.9 LSD, Hellas+air horns, IPD short throw, 99RSrims, s03's
My fault, but still. Where did you find a 2.2T for $450? On RS25.com? I always look on carpart.com, it's where most of the engine repair shops around St.Louis, including Plaza which is our huge luxury conglomerate that deals only in the likes of BMW, Mercedes, Lexus and Infiniti..sometimes they get some even higher end stuff.555BCTurbo wrote:

I have seen them go for that low, but its like Shifty Sal's Salvage Auto in BFE Arkansas...I wouldn't trust it as far as I can punt it.
