Windshield squirter not working

Post by BSOD2600 »

Lately, I've noticed my front windshield wiper squirter doesn't work. The tank has fluid. I don't think it's actually engaging though, because after I move the stick into the wash position, the wipers don't continue to move. You know, how they typically continue to wipe for ~5 seconds after the washer has been engaged.

Ideas on what to check? Everything else on that right side stick works fine.

Maybe time for a new stalk?

They are easy to replace and can be had for cheap at a JY.

I would just cycle through all of the movement options of the controls.

Do you have the intermittant wiper options?
Yes I have too many Subarus
No you can't have one

Yup, intermittent wipers still works -- everything does, except for the movement where the stock is pulled toward the driver to invoke the washer fluid. Ya, I'm dumb... completely forgot about the washer button on the end of the stick, which still works fine. So I'll just ignore this little problem for now...

Huh, that is odd...

Cuz I have a button on the end of my stalk not another position...

What you are describing is the mist function on mine, where the wiper only go once... You just pull the stock towards the driver...

I suppose it could be different on a wagon due to the addition of a rear wiper...

he just said that he realized that the windshield squirter button is on the end of the stock. he was accidentally pulling on it which engaged the mist fuction but he thought it was supposed to spray the windshield.
