Hey Bill - I'm real sorry to hear about your rip-off. I think that gives
about the worst feeling in the world without injury to yourself or someone
you know. About 30 years ago when my hot rod Bug got ripped off I installed
a shake alarm system and tried to tie in an old Ford Model A coil to the
circuitry. It was supposed to shock the shit out of anybody touching the car
when the alarm activated. I was told I could get into big trouble for using
something like that. I was young and brash back then and didn't give a shit.
Today I'm old and humble and I give less of a shit. I want to set up an
alarm with a delay so it let's whoever get into the car then sprays them with
phosgene or mustard gas or something wicked. Too bad the shocker wouldn't
work with the VW, something about the ground insulation not allowing a
complete circuit.
Anyway, email me if you want me to check on any specific details, or for
contact info if you'd rather contact them directly, of a place that may be a
source. They may only have air-to-water, but that's what I'm looking for, so
I drove by Saturday to check them out, but they were closed. They're kind of
one of those little shops in back of a bigger shop that's all word of mouth
without an address, signs, or advertising. They may be bringing over engines
from Japan to do a dunebuggy conversion. Not sure just what they have, or
what they can deliver, or how long they'll be around, so don't want to get my
hopes up, you know what I mean? Have to try to make a run there before they
close after work. Larry W.
