Ok I think I may have messed something up..somewhere..
I made my own air intake last week, And I must say I like it.. It is very
noticeable (audibly) during acceleration providing a very throaty, bassy tone
from the engine bay..
now i made it from plans on "Bob's hole in the wall"
And the only problem I ran into that weren't mentioned was his legacy does
not have ABS providing him lots of room for this large air filter...
I own an LS and I have ABS. So I had to cut down my pipe to about 4 inches
infonet of the ribbing on the tube.. to make it fit..
So far I haven't had the time to reset my ECU to take advantage of the new
air filter.. At first it was like I put a new life into the engine.. she was
very responsive with the throttle and would peel out with very little
provocation (FWD).. And the bass tone was awesome, I still love hearing it...
Now heres my problem ... right from the day I put it in.. It hates idle.. it
will hiccup and not quite stall, but it does shake pretty violently at each
hick-up.. I ran it on idle for a bit and just watched the engine.. everytime
the accessory radiator fan kicks on she has a fit..
My major problem is recently she has no power.. She can't make hills I
normally take without revving up to 5-6rpms (usually 2-4rpms) and when I
accelerate it feels like I'm carrying an elephfant.. and my 0-60 is easily
50seconds.. Should I reset my ECU and see if that corrects the problem??
At this point I can't put the box back on..the tube is way to short..

HELP!!! power problems..
The problem may be with your MAF sensor not liking the extra volume & speed of your incoming air. Also. intake & exhaust affect the O2 sensor & will change what the ECU reads-play with that & see what happens-ROD in Az.

Yes, definitly reset your the ECU. You might want to clean out your idle
speed controller too, could be dirty. Any check engine codes?
