clutch question

Post by georryan »

Ok, my car does something I find a little odd, but then again my last subaru was an 87 GL-10 with a cable clutch. :)

Here's what it does (could it be part of abs?? although I find it unlikely):

Sometimes if brake a little on the hard side and I put the clutch in it doesn't disengage until close to the floor. Then when I go to take off from the stop I've come to the clutch engages just as close to the floor and by second gear it is back to its normal spot. Is this normal?

Before I bought the car, the previous owner said he had the tranny rebuilt a while back and had a new clutch put in it and had the heads rebuilt and redone. So the parts are in good shape, I am just wondering if this is a normal thing or if it is as weird as I feel it is.

Any Insights?

that does sound a bit off, you may want to have your clutch engagement point checked out.
