WRX Stock Airbox/MAF Swap?

Post by conrAWD »

Has anyone attempted to use a WRX stock airbox and MAF as a replacement/upgrade to their existing stock Legacy Turbo airbox and MAF?

Any performance/airflow increase?

Looking at my friends and mine the two look very similar, and the bracketing looks the same.

I don't know exactly how it's setup, but I would imagine it won't work without some modifications, considering the intake tube goes under the intake manifold.

Plus, you couldn't use the WRX MAF without a piggyback or standalone ECU.

Good to know. Possibly an upgrade along with the ECU?

I've heard of a person in seattle i think that rotated his uppipe slightly so he could put a td04 on and run the stock wrx intake system without feeding it under the manifold. He didnt have a picture, but I think i'm gonna run a vf-39 like that.
Kickin' it old-school.
