Well for the 3rd time in 3 months, I have lost the alternator on a 3rd Legacy.
All three of them have been on 92 N/A Legacys.
What's Up with That?

I'd guess you have some kind of electrical issue causing failure. My original one lasted 250k and still worked intermittently (diode pack was dying). Something in the system must be causing it to overwork.

No, a bad wiring issue that's causing the alternator to overwork. A weak battery can strain an alternator as well.
