Hi everyone,
I am curious to know some info about the limitations of the car in relatively stock form. The class which we race (same as Mark Ward) is Prodution 4 which does not allow very many modifications.
We can have variable boost...which leads to the questions.
1) How much boost can the factory fuel system handle?
2) At what point does the factory Turbo become inefficient?
3) What about intercoolers? Did the Legacy ever have a factory intercooler setup?
Thanks for the info...
Rabin

About all I can input is what I have personally found I am sure
others
will give more.
The factory fuel system seems to start to give up at about 10-12lbs
we
found this to be its inability to deliver volume and keep the
pressure
up while in the meantime the manifold pressure is going up against it.
I haven't checked on the temperature at the compressor outlet yet but
have been told that it will get pretty hot at the same pressure but
don't really know for sure and plan on finding out. The USA Legacy
never
had a intercooler but water to air intercoolers were available in
most
other countries.

Some tech questions...
1. About 1 bar, 14.7PSI, most cars will cut out any higher. If you
wnat to go any higher, look at an extra injector or bigger injectors.
2. Don't know
3. Yes all the EJ20's around the world had intercoolers standard.
