The upper bushings going to the sway bar are wrecked and missing.
I have couple questions:
--Can I replace just the bushing, with something from NAPA?
--the links have a threaded section to the control arm, is it to adj. tension or height, or just for installation?
--What other options do i have to replace the links with? OEM?,WRX? AFTERMARKET?
-- Also the mount that holds sway bar bushing to car frame is looking rusty and thin!! should i be worried is there alot of force going thru it?
---- again Options??? OEM?, WRX?,
My dealer welded the link to the rear control arm
to keep the lower bushing from wearing out, seems like
a shity fix??? and now the upper bushing is wrecked!!!
What are you sayin?

I am replacing my rear lateral links and switching to 'C' style endlinks.

Allright,
My control arms match the "pin and cup" links....
So best fix 1- Replace bushings with whiteline stuff like W0007
2- Replace control arms to something that is C -link
attachable.
I'm still reading thru the bookmarks you provided too, thanks guys
Its good to have ALL the info in 1 place....

control arms?
To upgrade my control arms to WRX or STI units, do I have to know anything specific about compatability with the f&r's matching my stock
equipement and frame mounts?
DIY? or Direct Bolt On?
I realize the new rear end has a different linkage/ contorol arm setup
since 2004 or something, that doesn't fit at all right?
I saw NICO's sti arms ( high five ) and i'm worried I'm ignorant and will
get the wrong arms sent to my house!!! I did a bunch of searches,
but came up with very little.

Any GC/GF/GM Impreza with a rear swaybar.
Any GD/GG Impreza.
Any BD/BG Legacy with a rear swaybar.
All the Imprezas (and Legacies) basically have the exact same suspension setup until the new '08s (which got a multi-link rear end like the BE/BH and later Legacy). The fronts of the GD Impreza (only the sedan) had a wider front, but I believe the rear is the same width as its predecessors (the CV axles aren't any longer, so I am pretty sure it's the same).
The STIs also have a bit different rear setup, in regards to the swaybar endlinks.
The arms I used were for a GC Impreza and originally had hardened STI rubber bushings in them (which I changed out for polyurethane).
