I posted a while back about the awd in my 91 turbo legacy not
working. I had thought it was the solenoid valve hydraulics related
to the rear transfercase and as a result I had pulled the case and
everything looked fine. I finally did a pressure check today and
realized that the line pressure to the rear transfer clutches was 0
psi and that duty solenoid C was not releasing. I disconnected the
entire harness and sure enough the awd works fine however I don't
know exactly which wire runs that solenoid or whether the AT
controller is shot. does anybody have a good wiring diagram for the
sutomatic transmission that could be emailed or purchased? While I
would rather the system worked I will suffer with a manually actuated
switch if I can nail down the correct wire. Thanks all.

I hate to ask this but did you check that the disable AWD fuse is removed?

automatic AWD wiring diagram
I did check, no fuse and no FWD lamp in the instrument cluster (I
inserted a fuse and the dash lamp works) I also checked the flash
codes for the AT controller and with the harness disconnected it
singals that all solenoids are out of service. With the harness
connected no AT codes. It appears that everything is working and
intact only the AT controller fails to turn the "C" solenoid off when
wheel slip is detected. The abs system works fine but it still may
be a faulty AT controller. Once I know which wire to check I can
check the duty cycle of power to that solenoid. Both the chiltons
and haynes manuals are junk for the transmission both for internal
components and for the wiring. specifically I am looking for the
wiring colors for pressure Solenoids A, B anc C. Thanks.
