Well, it's here!

I was a bit hesistant to install it myself, so i actually made an
appointment with Modern Garage to have it put in.

Nevermind!

This things is really very straightforward to install, and i should
have it done tonight or tommorow, with a guide on Legacy Central to
follow.

Basically it just takes the inputs from the ECU/Igniter and diverts
them through itself, adds more power and multiple sparks across 20
degrees of rotation.

Anyone with a moderate level of electrical knowledge and a meter
could install it in probably less than 1/2 hour.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Definitely let us know how it goes dave. I am toying with doin this to my car. It's even a good help to the N/A engines as well. Also if you have not done so, get a coil pack from a 2.5 RS, it can handle more spark, I think Rod or someone has done this, and had good results.

It is in, and it does make a difference, but it didn't cure my miss.

I'm using a coilpack from a newer 2.2, but i'm sure it's not the same
as the RS. As for spark, we took the wire out of the pack and it was
like lightning, jumping at least 2" at times and making a loud
cracking noise...very cool.

Install is pretty straightforward if you don't assume, like we did,
and not have a voltmeter. The red wire is NOT the +, the Yellow one
is!

I'll have more info for y'all later, as well as more observations.

The RS coil that I was directed to had a 440 volt capacity as opposed to 380 volts for the stock coil. If you check www.b-spec.com, Byron`s 500+ hp impreza uses the came coil; I`ve read other articles that show high hp subies with a virtually stock ignition system. Also check www.rigoliracing.com.au, for more of the same info. See ya`--ROD (S`West)

Just curious but how does that compare to the new WRX
coil pack, and does that one fit on ours?

Don`t know if the Wrx & the 2.5 RS coils are the same; call a local dealer & see if the part nos. match. If not, you can`t go wrong with the 2.5 coil-ROD (Az.)
