Setting Stock Boost

I just purchased a '91 Leagcy Turbo (with auto tranny) here in Canada
and I love it! I have measured my max boost at 5.8 psi. Note: boost
is only 5 psi until ~120 km/h, when the car shifts into 3rd gear. My
previous turbos had an adjustable linkage (a threaded rod) between
the wastgate actuator and turbo. I have removed my turbo heat shield
to find no such adjustment. How can I return to stock performance of
~8.7 psi?

The wastegate opens automatically at about 6, so it sounds like your
boost solenoid isn't working right. Another (former) Turbo owner had
this problem too.

Best thing to do is just get a boost controller of some sort, IMHO,
and tweak it up to ~9-11.
