strut replacing and clipping!??!?!

Post by subaruracer755@cs.com »

what are you guys slow or something!?!?

when you take off that clip on the strut that holds the brake line, take out
the bolt (yes brake fluid will come out but not much) that holds the line to
the caliper and snake it back through the bracket on the strut. then i
tucked it behind itslef while i changed the strut.... then to put it back on
i put the brake line through the hole, then bolted it back on and bled the
brakes, no biggie...

ugh cutting... come on people!!!!

Actually, cutting that bracket is the way a lot of the "Subaru Master
Technitians" were taught how to do it.. Every one i've ever talked to said
that cuts about a hour outta the job.

Pardon the pun.

strut replacing and clipping!??!?!

Post by mike p. »

i know how to take the brake lines off but i was just trying to avoid
it at all cost because i almost stripped a bolt and didn't really
feel like buying new brake lines. i'm sure it wouldn't break me but
i just want my struts on and my lines are in fairly good condition,
just a little hard to get off.
