OK..while at work an idea popped outta my head..Nothing in stone as of
yet..so don't jump the gun..just want to know what kinda mess i'm getting
into..plus i wanna kinda be generous, share my enthuasim for this car..and
this group..eh
And was wondering: A: how much support would there be from (you
guys,SUBARU,and the SCCA)...
I live in PA..i'm within Minutes of Nazerth Speedway..They just so happen to
have an inner autocross track... or so i've been told by there front
office..i haven't actaully seen it.. Now it seems the Local SCCA chapter
rents it out from time to time..how much i have no idea..but i'm gonna find
out just out of freak curiosity..
Now if i were to have a autocross/Subaru meet in PA, other than paying for
the track for the day or 2 what else would i need to get a hold of?
Would nazerth speedway provide me with a track supervisor..or am i better off
getting a hold of the local SCCA group and ask them for there help...
Next..to cover costs of the track..how much is to much of a track fee to ask
someone like yourself..to pay? You guys would want to race..i would assume..
Well..I really want to know that if i were to go ahead and have a 2 day
subaru track meet what would the chances be of any of you US guys showing up?
what if there was a cash prizes would that change your mind?
How hard do you think it would be to get some official support from local
shops (ie.Tri-Tuning, Rallyspec,) and SOA..?
Thats about if for now..

AutoCross..Subaru's only
<warning, talking out of butt> I would get a hold of someone that has done this before. During my limited discussions with Subie Gal, who has organized numerous smaller events, and attended several larger ones including international, she gave me the impression that the SCCA is very helpful with stuff like this. Basically once it's under the SCCA umbrella a load of the legal implications fall under the SCCA insurance etc. and relieves the organizer, and land owner, from the lions share of the legal responsibilities of organizing a race. </warning, talking out of butt>
I'd say it's worth attending a few first, for sure, if you haven't already. Volunteer at a few. There's a lot of Subaru racing activities up in the Northeast. Get hooked in with the N.E. guys on the I-club and see if anyone needs some help at an upcomming race.
